Fall in Point Clear

When people ask me about my job, I try to explain that I am not a party planner. I am a party go-er and party thrower. I love to entertain but don't plan parties for a living. I just share what I learn from going to parties or throwing parties with all of you. Soooo---- that said, in the past week I have been noticeably absent from my blog because I have been busy "party go-ing" all around my favorite fall destination--- Point Clear, Alabama. Situated on Mobile Bay, it is a special place in the world. Think Forrest Gump. In fact, this is where the book was written and some of the characters (and I mean characters) I am lucky enough to know inspired the book. Winston Groom, Fannie Flagg, W.E.B. Griffin  and other authors are familiar faces around town. Magnificent live oak trees are everywhere and the sights, sounds, food, and people are what make it so special. When you see the pictures, you'll understand why I took some time to enjoy this wonderful place. And I got lots of ideas to share with all of you! Many thanks to everyone including party hosts Kenny, Sadie, Kim and Chip, and Dawn and Curtis for a great week of parties, great food, polo, and so much fun.

From cocktails at The Grand Hotel bar as we watched the sun set into Mobile Bay to celebrating the day with breakfast on the pier, to Polo at the Point and the fantastic player's party on Friday, or Kenny's dove hunt on Saturday--- it was a wonderful weekend. And lots of it was for charity, too. Congratulations to everyone for a job well done--- and thanks for letting me be a part of it all. Here's a preview! Don't miss the ladies in hats--- a polo tradition. Stay tuned for more party pics and ideas from Sweet Home Alabama!
